WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

WizeHive is seeking a full-time Ruby on Rails Developer. You will be working on WizeHive's "Bright Funds" product (https://www.brightfunds.org). Bright Funds is an all-in-one CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) platform for companies of all sizes that allows their employees to do good in the world by donating to their favorite charities and volunteering for causes they care about. It allows the corporate CSR department to run their giving and volunteering programs. They use Bright Funds to track millions of dollars of employee donations, hours of volunteering, and product matching donations, among many other functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • You will be a senior engineer on a modern full stack Ruby on Rails application.
  • You will be in charge of new feature design and implementation, project leadership, and mentoring roles.
  • You will also be making continuous improvements to the design and performance of an existing large and complex application.
  • You will work on a collaborative fully remote team that pairs or mobs frequently.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:

  • You are excited to work on a modern full stack Rails application including the Hotwire front end stack (Turbo/Stimulus/Action Cable)
  • You have 3+ years of Ruby on Rails experience.
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You can handle the entire software development life cycle, end to end
  • You can self manage your projects
  • You lead others, and others look to you for guidance
  • You have strong and up to date HTML, CSS, and Javascript skills
  • You have strong knowledge of relational databases, and Postgres in particular
  • You care deeply about software quality and testing
  • You have strong refactoring skills
  • You are detail oriented
  • A CS degree is a plus, but not required
