WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

WizeHive is seeking a full-time  Jr. SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) to handle escalated customer facing issues in our production environment. They will work with the SRE Team Lead to address scaling issues, improve resilience and availability of our applications.  The Jr. SRE will also work with our Applications, Devops, and Architecture teams to anticipate and resolve emerging issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create tools and automations and resolve runtime issues in our Production environment that impact our Customers.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:

  • Knowledge and understanding of common monitoring and alerting tools like Datadog, AWS Cloudwatch, Nagios, Grafana, Kibana, PagerDuty. 
  • Ability to craft Runbooks in Confluence 
  • Working knowledge of Databases including MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, as well as caching tools like Memcache, Redis, Varnish, etc…
  • Working understanding of Docker, ECS, EKS, Heroku, Minikube
  • Good understanding of Microservices architectural patterns and best practices
  • Good understanding of eventing system tooling like AWS SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ and others.
  • Working understanding of IaC tooling like Terraform, Ansible, Cloudformation Templates. 
  • Familiar with using client-side JavaScript frameworks (preferably Angular and/or React)
  • Familiarity with Ruby On Rails is a plus, but not required

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to categorize, classify, and triage issues.
  • Comfort working directly in Production environments.
  • Communicating and collaborating across teams.
  • Ability to follow Agile workflow processes and tooling; Jira, Scrum, Backlog Grooming, Planning etc.
  • Good knowledge of debugging tools and techniques
  • Attention to detail and a mindset for continuous improvement.
