WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are growing rapidly and looking for a Controller to be a collaborative partner to our CFO to build out a best-practices, high-performing accounting team. The ideal candidate should possess a proven ability to develop accounting processes and policies to oversee all finance and accounting functions of our company. The Controller will ensure compliance with relevant accounting and reporting requirements and help enhance and oversee a strong system of internal controls. You will oversee the company’s transaction processing and have primary responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of the company’s general ledger and associated accounting systems, monitor and analyze the company’s financial results in comparison to budget and established KPIs, assist the CFO in maintaining rolling forecasts, and coordinate periodic audits by independent accountants. In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with accounting systems is required.

LOCATION:

Ideally we would like this role to be based in the greater Philadelphia area but we are open to this role working remotely with occasional travel. WizeHive does not provide visa sponsorship at this time.

WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE:

  • Document, monitor and update accounting policies and related processes
  • Ensure all transaction cycles (e.g., billing to cash collections and A/P to disbursement) are timely and accurately processed
  • Manage monthly closing process to ensure timely and accurate internal and external financial reporting
  • Report on financial status on a regular basis and create ad-hoc reports when needed
  • Monitor and analyze monthly/quarterly/annual results of operations in comparison to budget and forecasts quarterly and annual budgets for all departments
  • Analyze operating cost and marginal profitability
  • Assist in the preparation and completion of management dashboards, including tracking of KPIs
  • Coordinate periodic internal and external audits
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and tax regulations
  • Performs other duties as required

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • At least 7 years of experience in similar roles
  • BSc or MSc in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or CMA strongly preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in a managerial role
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and regulations
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger and management of all transaction processing cycles
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting software, including experience with ERP upgrades
  • Ability to effectively manage, and develop team members to create a high performing team
