WizeHive Announces SOC 2 Compliance, Continued Commitment to Highest Level of Security & Data Privacy Protocols

WizeHive has, from its start, made the security of our platforms and the customer data stored within one of our highest priorities. And as cloud adoption has grown and industry standards have reached new heights, we have been proud to adapt, adhere, and comply, continually ensuring our clients know their information is safe and secure.

As our company size grew and, with it, the number of large, security-focused organizations we work with, we knew completing SOC 2 certification was a must. We are happy to report that as of late September 2019, WizeHive is SOC 2 compliant.

Not sure what this means? Read on for more information on what SOC 2 is and why it confirms our long-standing dedication to providing the best in data security and privacy.

What is SOC 2?

SOC 2 is an audit that reviews an organization’s procedures, policies, and methods for managing data and ensuring the privacy of its clients.

Developed by the AICPA, SOC 2 is among the most modern and well-respected certification types, making it a great choice for cloud vendors storing and processing sensitive data.

The audit is broken into “trust service principles” -- such as security and confidentiality  -- and outlines to clients, partners, and others how the organization manages data with those principles in mind.

What has WizeHive accomplished?

As of September 30, 2019, WizeHive has been issued a SOC 2 Type I. This document describes our organization’s systems, policies, and operational procedures at the time of the report, as well as proves why these create a secure environment for data hosting and usage.

WizeHive is committed to continuing to enhance its security and privacy policies and certifications in the future.

Why is a SOC 2 important?

Working with an organization that has a SOC 2 provides an additional layer of confidence that the very highest security procedures are in place when it comes to your invaluable data.

While organizations - including WizeHive prior to our audit - may follow these procedures without having the SOC 2, the formal compliance provides independent, third-party assurance, enabling you to determine that these areas are being managed appropriately without investigating each possible procedure, policy, or system feature.

Working with a vendor with a SOC 2 provides the peace of mind that items like these, and many more, are in place and meet high standards.

  • Access controls
  • Firewalls
  • Audit trails
  • Issue/breach alerts
  • Encryption
  • Company training

Moving forward, WizeHive will undergo regular audits to ensure that we remain SOC 2-compliant.
