Communication Strategy Award Description

This award honors those who use one or more Blackboard tools to support teaching and learning or campus engagement with innovative communications strategies. Honorees are recognized for programs that go beyond the expected to reach the right audience with the right message, via the right channel.  Award recipients will have demonstrated concrete results that have driven student success, whether through improved grades or scores, increased attendance or retention, or stronger stakeholder engagement.

Examples that demonstrate this use case include:

  • A communication program that helps to improve participation in school events and daily campus life
  • A program that reaches out to intervene in the academic performance of struggling students
  • A strategy that uses communication to build a stronger sense of community across campus

Measurements:

  1. How has this communication program broadened or deepened engagement at the institution, before and after? How many stakeholders were in your audience, and why did you choose them?
  2. What was the content of your communication? Which channels did you use to communicate, and why did you choose them?
  3. What was the impact for your institution, academic or otherwise? Did test scores or graduation rates increase, event attendance or participation increase, etc.?
