SUCCESS STORY BACKGROUND

Like many freelancer/entrepreneurial types, Ron Fournier is continually faced with the task of organizing multiple streams of ideas and information. This includes his longstanding creative partnership as the copywriting half of BrennanFournier, along with ongoing freelance relationships via RonFournier.com.

THE WIZEHIVE SOLUTION

After looking at a number of project management and collaboration tools, Fournier selected WizeHive. "I really like the flexibility and scalability of WizeHive," Fournier adds. "And the interface is simple and telegraphic. It doesn’t feel like it was designed by a coder."

WizeHive has been particularly valuable for this Providence-area multitasker in the creation of Jazz Illustrated, a new website designed to make jazz simple for everyday people. This project is indicative of the connective and collaborative power of our cloud-based application.

"After several months, we realized that email ping-pong and Saturday 10:00 AM conference calls were not going to take us where we needed to go," Fournier says. "WizeHive freed us from our respective inboxes, giving us a collaborative space that can be accessed anywhere, anytime."

THE RESULTS

WizeHive continues to help Ron in his daily work in several ways:

  • Email reduction. "Maybe the biggest thing is being able to free yourself from the confines of the Inbox. You can facilitate the mainstream of your conversation right in the Activity Window." Emailing notes directly into workspaces allows for easy management to quickly and easily find exactly what he needs.
  • Information management. "Also huge is the ability to filter information by topic, using Pages to group and organize various types of media, including conversation streams, task lists, files and web links."
  • Virtual brainstorming. "When you’re concepting campaigns, it’s common to have a brainstorming room where ideas can be posted and shared on the wall. WizeHive is like a web-based version of that. Word, Excel and graphics files can be posted for review and editing. Team members can log into this virtual space whenever it’s convenient, to share ideas and keep the process moving."
  • Organizing daily agendas. "I love having daily agendas for each individual workspace and then the ability to look at ALL of my activities across ALL workspaces at once," Ron describes. "This one feature is unique to WizeHive and really sold me. On a typical day, I’m managing multiple agendas for clients, bizdev/networking initiatives, and personal music/web projects. The ability to glide in and out of workspaces at will was a big selling point. One I’d now be hard-pressed to live without."
